Best Practices

This work was produced to support a monograph developed by Johns Hopkins University, under contract to the Department of Defense. The monograph studies the effects of school environment on academic success. Johns Hopkins has identified four factors that are critical to the success of a school program: caring environment; safe/structured environment; academic environment; and a participatory environment “Best Practices” is a documentary that looks at four schools selected by Johns Hopkins as the “best of the best” – schools that exemplify the principles that make effective school programs work.  The audience for this program is school supervisors, principles, teachers, and parents throughout the country. "Best Practices" won an Honorable Mention at the Columbus International Film and Video Festival, and combined with the printed monograph, won the Certificate of Excellence in Media of Print.

Military Voices

“Military Voices”, presents the problems parent and children face when parents are deployed or reassigned, advocating that schools need to play a more active role in helping the children cope with these changes. This work was produced to support a monograph developed by Johns Hopkins University, under contract to the Department of Defense. The audience for this program is school supervisors, principles, teachers, and parents throughout the country.
